Income again up for itt
I see thier financial rape continues to be so sucessful for them.Something tells me that $35, 000 for an associate's degree that cannot be transferred to about 99% of colleges and universities is not ethical in my opinion.
I attended this school and still to the day regret it.I attended for an associate's of applied science degree for in a computer based field.I graduated with a gpa of 3.35 on a 4.0 scale.I missed only 2 classes during the entire 2 years of attendance.I have been to 2 different jobs in the 2 and a half years since graduating from itt and at both of those jobs(Directly related to my degree's field of study)My degree helped me zero percent.
I have since, in that time, been recruited on three seperate occasions to return for more studies. All three times i have vented my frustrations and requested to be removed from future recruiting.I'm expecting call 4 any day now since the first two requests obviously went unheeded.
I now sit in an aerospace job(That i had to fight tooth and nail to get into since my degree was of no help), being paid less than $40k a year.I make $450 in monthly student loan payments(Roughly 30% of my income after taxes are taken out). That payment, by the way, if after consolidation of eligible loans.Had i known this was going to be the price i paid for"Higher education,"I would have stuck it out with a high school degree.I could have still obtained the job i am at now with my tech based studies from high school(And that can be proven by the 18 high school graduates we hired just this past summer.
So here's to the financial wonders that itt tech has been able to achieve thus far, and may god have mercy on those who graduate from this miserable institution.Something tells me that $35, 000 for an associate's degree that cannot be transferred to about 99% of colleges and universities is not ethical in my opinion.

Good to know, my better half is looking into going there for his degree. He wants to do computer gaming but devry has some jacked up payment system that the military doesn't like to pay on.Voc.Rehab suggested he go to itt tech isntead because they do a normal payment system. The cost isn't the issue so much as location and program availability, do you recommend someplace else in the indy area for computer schooling?

From the wikipedia entry:
Itt tech is nationally accredited by the accrediting council for independent colleges and schools. It does not have regional accreditation thus many regionally accredited universities and colleges will not accept itt tech's credits for transfer or recognize its undergraduate degrees for entry into graduate programs.
I have a problem with"For profit"Schools they will admit almost anyone and don't really care if they pass or fail as long as they keep paying.Which means the coursework is easier. And the degree worth less.Employers are not fooled. It's also not all glory often people live in the office when approaching delivery deadlines.
But, if that is something he would like to pursue, i would highly suggest first looking at job openings from many of the major Gaming studios.Look at the requirements. That should give him an idea of what he really needs to study to get in.Most universities do not have a"Gaming"Program but they have the courses you need to become a successful game designer.Depending what he wants to work on engine programming, level/model design, etc, that will determine what courses he should take.Iupui will probably be the best technical school to go to in the indy area as far as programming goes.

I honestly wouldn't know of other locations for gaming design, but i've heard of others that have gone to ivy tech to start that pathway and then migrate to iupui or purdue for computer design classes and some computer gaming and programming classes.
The best advice i can offer is get as specific a detail as you can from any college you look at.Be sure that what they offer you is worth the price they ask.Above all, look at the local market. If the skills you want to achieve at this school have a demand strong enough to be available when you graduate in 2 to 4 years, then it may be the school for you.If you can't match these factors, look elsewhere before you get socked like i do.
I went to itt to start work on an architecture degree, and i couldn't afford to live on campus as places like ball state or other arch based universities.I chose itt thinking it was close with fewer classes and a great benefit to work during the day and go to school at night.Well, 3 years after starting, i have an aas, with no transferability to start a bachelor's program without having to start completely from scratch(Nearly all core classes at itt tech are non transferable, and even some gened classes as well).I can't afford a $35k aas and a $42k bs while making $37k a year.It just cannot be financially done without killing myself working.
